We celebrate the book launch of Mountain manuscript at Kjarvalsstaðir on 29 August from 17.00–20.00.

Mountain manuscript gives an insight to a fragmented whole of an artist's work and marginalia. We join her travels to the inlands and the unknown, challenged by natures' cycles, learning to read the weather's writing. In sensing her way of seeing, we understand the importance of new ways of being.

Writer Oddný Eir gives a personal insight into the life work of her artist mother Guðrún Kristjánsdóttir, but the work is done in close collaboration between them and designer Snæfríður Þorsteins. The main text of the book, the autobiography Letter to Luise, is also in English in the book.

This artbook based on an ongoing conversation between mother and daughter creates an experimental interplay between various art medias and poetry, philosophy, design, archaeology, architecture, nature conservation, intuition and view, between home and the blue, family life and art explorations.
