Hiraeth: Longing
Group Exhibition

Hiraeth is a Welsh word with no direct translation - a deep, emotional longing for a home that may never have existed, or that has been irreversibly lost. This exhibition brings together 29 members of the Icelandic Contemporary Photographers Association (FÍSL), each responding to this theme through photography. The selected works explore memory, belonging, absence, and imagined places of comfort - both personal and collective.Spanning landscapes, intimate portraits, and abstract reflections, the exhibition offers a diverse yet connected visual conversation on how we carry places and emotions with us, and the ways we search for home across time and space.Curator: Yael BC, participating photgraphers: Agnieszka Sosnowska, Aishling Muller, Bára Kristinsdóttir, Berglind Bjornsdottir, Bjargey Ólafsdóttir, Bragi Þór Jósefs, Christine Gisla, Claire Paugam, Díana Júlíusdóttir, Einar Falur Ingólfsson, Hallgerður Hallgrímsdóttir, Helgi Vignir Bragason, Jóna Þorvaldsdóttir, Juanjo Ivaldi, Katrin Elvarsdottir, Kristin Bogadóttir, Kristin Sigurdardottir, Kristján Maack, Maria Kjartans, Rossana, Rúnar Gunnarsson, Sandra Mjöll Jónsdóttir, Sigríður Rut Marrow, Spessi, Stephan Stephensen, Telma Haraldsdóttir, Yael BC, Þórdís Erla Agustsdóttir, Grace Claiborn Barbörudóttir, Ásta Guðrún Óskarsdóttir
