ListaVestrið
Eiríkur Stephensen, Gabríela Friðriksdóttir, Ragnheiður Gestsdóttir

At the gallery Undir brúnni (Under the Bridge), which is located beneath a disused bridge at Sólbakki just outside Flateyri, visual artist Ragnheiður Gestsdóttir is opening a new piece. A new musical composition by Eiríkur Stephensen and Rún Árnadóttir will also premiere when the sound installation Jökull (Glacier) opens in Tankurinn at Sólbakki. That event is supported by the Westfjords Development Fund.
At the old fire station on Brimnesvegur, visual artist Gabríela Friðriksdóttir will present the installation Ströndinni (The Shore).
In recent years, Undir Brúnni Gallery, Tankurinn, and the Old Fire Station have hosted annual cultural events that have attracted many visitors and gained well-deserved attention. This year, it has been decided to unite the summer events under one umbrella called ListaVestrið. The festival's goal is to offer ambitious cultural events, invite some of our foremost artists to participate, and strengthen cultural life in the Westfjords.
More artists are participating in ListaVestrið (off-venue) this year, including Jean Larson at Krummakot (Ránargata 10), Hrafnkell Sigurðsson in Tankurinn, Helga Guðrún at Bryggjukaffi, and Bjarni Massi at Vagninn — where, in the evening, a dance event called Ógleymaball (The Unforgettable Ball) will also be held.
The exhibitions are open daily from 12 PM to 6 PM, July 12–20, but the gallery Undir brúnni will be open 24 hours a day for the next year.
