An exhibition inspired by the poem By Toggi Cilia (Þorgrímur Óli Cilia):“Shine”

We don’t always need light to see the truth.

It also lives in the stillness that comes from pausing — from stopping the search. When we turn off the lights and look inward — and stand face to face with the deep truths that dwell there.

The works in this exhibition respond to UV light,

As if to remind us that much of what is beautiful

Can only be seen in darkness. Some things reveal themselves only once we stop looking.

In light, we see the surface.

In darkness, dimensions open.

You don’t need brightness to see these paintings —

They radiate. They don’t speak — they listen.

They touch — but only those

Who dare to pause and let themselves

Glow along with them.

Time—a twisted path.

Days pass, uneventful.

We stand,

Watching the sun sink into the sea—

What is left behind?

Do we need anything more?

Silent companionship in the shadows,

Where nothing else serves a purpose.

No star shines forever.

But since we are here,

Let us radiate together.
